I loved decorating my baby boy’s room! I wanted a simple, understated little boy nursery with a touch of vintage.
I started with a neutral paint color, Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan.
The bedding is khaki and cream washed linen from Cottage and Cabin, an Etsy shop. To give the room a vintage feel, I shopped my favorite antique mall, Midtown Antiques. There I found iron baskets, which I filled with stuffed animals and baby books. I also found an antique chair for the nursery. I really wanted a chair that I could use somewhere in the house after it was no longer needed in the nursery and this was the perfect find! I then added wooden toys, cars, and blocks as accessories to enhance the vintage feel.
I painted the end table with Annie Sloan, Paris Grey and darkened it with the dark wax. If you have not used this paint before, you must give it a try. The table was originally black, no sanding or priming require… just paint!
Then I painted my childhood dresser and mirror with Annie Sloan, Old Violet and dark wax. I left the top of the dresser in its original state and distressed the bottom of the dresser. I absolutely love, love, love how it turned out. It works perfectly in the nursery, but will also work in his room for years to come!
My ever so handy husband made the wooden “Jackson” which was painted with Annie Sloan, Emperors Silk. (can you tell, I love this paint?!) He also made the “J” and it was stained to match the cabinet. The cabinet is a family piece, which we filled with memorabilia from Jackson’s grandfather and great-grandfathers.
The nursery turned out just the way I wanted, I perfect for a baby and ready for a little boy to grow into!
